The Y8 trip to Standon Bowers is rapidly approaching and we hope every member of the year group will take part in this fantastic experience.
Mrs Whites' netball team were successful in winning the Division 2 Summer League title in the Burton and District League. This is a great achievement and we hope that her winning ways are transferred to the school teams for their matches this year. We would like to wish Mrs White and her team, The Barton Belles, the best of luck in their promotion to Division 1.
Year 8's visit Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre
Bracing Winter weather did not deter Year 8 students from Windsor Park Middle School as they set out on their week away at Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre.
The outdoor educational week enables students to acquire and develop key skills; communicate better, solve problems, learn to lead and be part of a team.
Miss L Bendlow, PE Teacher said; "It was an absolute pleasure to take the year 8's away to Standon Bowers for the week. Each and every one of them gave 100% in all the activities. Their behaviour was impeccable".
Climbing, scrambling, BMXing, archery, shelter building, night walking, rope climbing and balance, along with team problem solving are to name but a few of the activities the students experienced during their time away.
Katie Shipley, Instructor at the Centre stated; "I have really enjoyed working with the Windsor year 8's this week. They have all worked really hard and have been lots of fun".
Year 5 students from Windsor Park Middle School have been introduced to Bikeability, 'cycling proficiency' for the 21st century. It is designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today's roads.
Well done to all students who participated.
